Project Overview
Creating a wellness, health, or medical app ux design
The assignment requires designing a user-centered wellness, health, or medical application that helps users achieve their personal health goals by supporting the adoption and maintenance of healthy habits.
The app should offer a personalized, engaging, and intuitive experience, using data and insights to guide users toward better health outcomes.
Key Requirements:
Choose a focus area: General health, mental wellness, chronic condition management, nutrition, etc.
Conduct user research: To understand real user needs and pain points
Create a personalized experience that adapts to user goals and behavior
Design an intuitive, visually appealing interface that aligns with your user personas
Incorporate habit-building tools: reminders, motivation, insights, and tracking.
Deliverables include user personas, app features, wireframes or mockups, and a brief explanation of how the app supports healthy habits and user engagement
What RANT has to offer
I decided to create an app about mental wellness. I was focused on creating an app where you could journal your thoughts and express yourself.
It is an app that can be kept private with just yourself or can be shared with friends. There are also notifications that can let the user know whether someone posted an entry or if they liked your entry.
The app also contains a My Circle feature, which basically allows you can join or create a group to which you can create and share entries within that user group.
As for the color choice and combination, whenever I think of sad emotions, I think of a muted blue and purple. Which is why I have chosen those colors as the color palette for the app.
Design Process

During the project's beginning phases, Research is being done and important elements are being noted.
For example, what type of iconography style is being used, the color palettes, fonts chosen, any inspiration and potential logo ideas.
User personas are made to further explain the target audience for the mobile app being created. In-depth fictional people who could potentially use the app for their specific needs.

The next phase requires building low-fidelity wireframes. What this process does is map out how the app will look.
It sets how the app will function and what features are incorporated. For example, how a new user would first open the app and the required onboarding process in order to access the app. Then the app and its features.

Next is creating the central design system which requires making the app function. Primarily making buttons and interactables.
Such as toggle switches, animations, voice messages, visual entries, notifications, etc, as shown above.

High-fidelity wireframes were made for a new user experience. Low-fidelity wireframes made it easier just to plug everything in to create the finished product.

This wireframe was created for an already existing user experience.
